I didn't have enough works in progress, so I thought I'd start a new one today. Ran over to my LNS after work and picked up one of the new Autumn 2011 Mill Hill kits - Moonlit Kitties. Got the threads sorted and bobbined and started stitching the moon in the middle of the design. It is stitched on perforated paper, which is not my favorite, but is nowhere near as bad as plastic.
And like fabrics, perforated paper has come a long way as far as colors are concerned. This one has a painted side, midnight blue. It feels rather tacky as I stitch on it, but that could just be from my hands perspiring a bit. It will take a little longer to finish because I have to stab-stitch it instead of using my usual sewing method, but I love the design, and I really like the color of the paper.
I got a tracking number for my Bali Wedding Star quilt kit today, and it's projected to be delivered Wednesday! Can't wait to have it in my hands, even if I know I'm not going to start it that moment. No quilting tonight, probably not for a few days, but it's always on my mind. :)
