A quilty weekend in progress

I've had a lot of time to spend in my sewing room today, and as a result, I've finished piecing the Waterlily Pond quilt top. Click the photo if you want to see a really large version (fabrics up close).

While I was piecing it, I started my first official "Leaders and Enders" quilt, thank you Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville. I have had this quilt kitted up for over a year now, except for the cream fabric. Apparently when I add fabric to my stash, it tends to be really cute or really beautiful fabric in medium or dark colors, and very little in the way of light or cream-colored fabrics make it in (that will be rectified in the future). The pattern is Feathered Fantasy from the March 2003 issue of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. Here are a couple of pics of that one so far. It is laid out in rounds but pieced in rows, on point. I hope that makes sense.

Blocks laid out

Blocks in stacks

And I've been thinking about some of the quilts I've started and not really made much progress piecing yet. So I decided to make a block for my Blocks from the Past quilt. To this point, I had only hand appliquéd one block, so now it has one of those and one pieced. Here is the pieced block, Friendship Album. These blocks finish around 6½ inches each.

I'm hoping to get a little more done on some other projects tomorrow. I love weekends!!!
