Textured Floral sees the light of day

How embarrassing that I've been thinking of new crewel projects, and I haven't worked on the one I've got in progress since November of 2010.

I've been working on the millions of french knots that make up the really pretty and dimensional flower petals. I really like how it uses cotton floss for the interior and wool for the exterior of these petals. I included a closeup at an angle for a better view of the dimension these stitches create. I'll have to come back to this one soon, but not today, because the stitches are so close that sometimes it's hard to pull the needle through the fabric (even with a finger cot), so I'm going to let my fingers and thumbs rest a bit and return to stitching on Autumn Fairy. I'm hoping to finish up both part 3 and part 4, then share a new photo on that one.
