I had extra time today to work on it because, even though I am no longer going to quilt guild meetings, I'm still going to take time off each month to sew and quilt.
Mom asked me if I had any fabric leftover from the double wedding ring quilt I made for her. I was sure I had a few scraps, but was pleasantly surprised to find the majority of the ones I used sitting in my stash just waiting for me to bag them up and take them to her. She is thinking of making a pillow sham to go with the quilt, which lives on their bed. As I was looking back through the photos of making that quilt, I was not surprised that I couldn't find any scraps for several of the fabrics, since I tend to use scraps in other quilts. I also found some lurking in Dream a Little Dream, High Cotton, Smith Mountain Morning, as well as a few hanging out in the piles I have stacked up for Over the Rainbow. I just love carrying my favorite fabrics from quilt to quilt. My Rail Fence quilt has scraps in it from at least three other quilts, and it's such a joy to look at and snuggle under. So I'm pleased as punch that Mom wants to use scraps from her DWR quilt to make something else, and that I could find enough of the originals to give to her.
