Hanging in there

I have another follow up with the shoulder doc next week, wondering what he will think of my progress so far. I've had a minor setback, in my opinion, and while my exercises have been going well (I feel pretty good while I am doing my exercises, as long as I don't overdo them), I've noticed an increase in my pain level throughout the day even while just resting. I'll be asking the doctor about it, and hopefully he will know just what we need to do to get rid of it!

A friend had asked if I was quilting yet. Sadly I had to tell him no, and I'm trying to keep from going crazy while being unable to quilt, etc. I am reading, but my focus wanders a lot. It seems like I should be able to really take advantage of the forced downtime, but my brain is working against me. Meanwhile, I have more plans for new projects to start than any sane person should. I know this is all related to my inability to work on and finish existing projects. The one positive? My nails are the longest they have ever been, because I can't do anything that would break them! LOL. Here is my latest manicure, since I can occasionally polish them (Zoya Natty with an accent of Maybelline Color Show-Blue Marks the Spot for those who are interested).

On another positive note, I am enjoying our new home, getting used to everything here. I love walking outside and seeing the bunnies in the yard, the robins in the trees, the squirrels chasing along the fence. We are closer to family (not that we were really far away to begin with), and that has been helpful both for us and for them. Mom and Dad have helped out a ton, especially in the beginning when I needed to be shuttled to my appointments.

I have patience with so many things except this healing process. It's something I know I need to work on, so I'll try a little harder. Thanks for hanging in there with me. I have faith that sometime (hopefully soon!) I'll be able to resume working on all the fun stuff and sharing that with you!

9 and a half weeks

9½ weeks - that's how long it has been since surgery. Just over two months. I'm still seeing slow progress. I just have to think about it week to week, not day to day. My father had rotator cuff surgery 7 months ago, and he is nearly back to maximum range of motion and strength - not quite, but almost. His was a bit more involved than mine, but still - gives me something to think about, and helps me realize that it has ONLY been two months, so my progress isn't all that bad so far.

I'm not the only one who has benefited from the online shopping I've been doing over the last couple of months. Stilts and Candy received a new scratching lounge in the mail today. Candy got to enjoy it for a few minutes, and then Stilts claimed, "MINE!"
