The best laid plans

When Friday rolled around, a friend asked what I was going to do with all my "free" time this weekend. CC was heading over to Memphis for a couple of days with one of his best friends, and so I had the entire weekend to myself. I could get so much accomplished! I had all these wonderful ideas about how I was going to spend my time.

But I wasn't feeling all that great Friday night, so I took some medication which I had taken before with no side effects. I did fine with it that night. But then Saturday morning I woke up with vertigo so bad I could only stop it by lying on my side. There went my morning for certain. I managed to make it to lunch with a friend, since we'd made the plans a few weeks ago and I didn't want to miss that, but as soon as I got back home, it was back on the couch, and that was where I spent the rest of the afternoon. I finally felt well enough to do a little knitting in the evening, but didn't want to overdo it. Fortunately, I felt much better this morning. Since I had no other symptoms, I'm guessing it was the medication, and I won't be taking that again. I will get by with something else from now on.

I went back into my sewing room today and decided to work on the Chunky Churn Dash quilt that was a block of the month in 2013 from Quilter's Attic. I had already completed all of the blocks, it was just a matter of sewing them all together into a quilt top. It went together very quickly, and now all I need to do is figure out borders. I will probably do a small inner border and a larger outer border. The quilt right now measures 55 x 67. It just doesn't look "finished," and I want it to be a little bigger anyway. Since my quilter is retiring at the end of the year, I was hoping I could get at least one more quilt finished so that she could quilt it for me, and it looks like I might meet that goal. None of my others are close enough in the process, so I will just cross that bridge when I come to it for them.

As for all those other things I was planning to accomplish this weekend? Well, there's always next weekend. :)
