Doodle-head Stitches, Episode 9

Thanks for watching!

Show Notes

Knitting: I started the Stella shawl! It became an official knit-along just after the last podcast, and the knit-along started in July. It is also a knit-along on the designer's Ravelry group. Both end around the first of August, so the needles are flying fast and furious to knit it within the time frame. I'm 65% complete, and I'm using two colors of Malabrigo Mechita, Ninfas and Impressionist Sky.

I have started on the final of six colors in the gradient Seven Sisters Yarns used in my Sea Dragon Shawl by Ambah. This sixth color is a deep blue with just a hint of green, and is my probably my second favorite color.

Quilting: I figured out the block design and cutting measurements for the quilt I plan to make as a baby quilt for my grand-nephew. It will have 35 blocks total - 18 blocks with a green "border" and 17 alternate blocks with a patterned "border". I've pieced 9 of the blocks together so far, and have the rest of the blocks ready to piece.

Crochet: My Scrappy Sock Yarn Granny Square Blanket now has 51 attached blocks, with many more ready to be attached.

Cross Stitch: The Feathered Friends by Mill Hill (Laurel Burch collection) project saw a little un-stitching, then a little re-stitching, then a little bit more progress.

Miscellany: I'm heading out to the SSK Market session that is open to the public, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of my favorite indie dyers, perhaps buying some more yarn?

I also talk about my fondness for listening to audiobooks while crafting. Many libraries carry them, which is where I discovered them myself. Unabridged audiobooks are my favorite.

Happy crafting everyone!
